Bluetooth has been in large use in the past few years and it easily connects devices within few meters. The maximum range of two nodes connected in a Bluetooth, PAN (Personal Area Network) is 5 meters. The audio, video or any information to be transferred between two connected nodes is sent as data packets with a uniform bit rate. This bit rate varies from the devices connected. Laptops and mobiles phones are also now available Bluetooth connectivity. Bluetooth head sets are also available with human interface for volume control, call connecting and disconnecting. IEEE 802.13 is a special type of standard developed for Bluetooth.
